Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before your consultation
Do I need a prescription to see an osteopath?
No. Osteopathy is a direct-access therapy. You can book an appointment directly, without a prescription or medical referral.
Is the consultation covered by insurance?
Osteopathic consultations are not covered by French national health insurance. Some supplementary health plans may reimburse part or all of the cost. Check with your insurance provider.
How long does a consultation last?
The first consultation generally lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Follow-up consultations are slightly shorter (30 to 45 minutes).
Is osteopathy painful?
Osteopathic techniques are generally gentle and painless. Some manipulations may cause slight, temporary discomfort. The practitioner always adapts their approach to your comfort.
How many sessions are needed?
This depends on each situation. For a recent acute problem, 1 to 3 sessions are often sufficient. For chronic or recurring disorders, follow-up over several sessions may be recommended.
Can I bring my infant?
Yes, the practice welcomes infants from birth. Infant osteopathy uses very gentle techniques, adapted to the fragility of newborns.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Payment is accepted by cheque or cash only. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
